Our new family member....maybe.

So, against my better judgement, I told a friend at work that I would take a kitten. I thought that it would be good for the kids to have a pet, since they're both such wimps when it comes to animals. It's only been a few days and little Willy seems to be fitting in well so far with our family. However, Willy might move to Germantown in a couple of weeks when we visit Grandma Joy and Grandpa Mike....we'll see how it goes..

Day at the beach

This past weekend Auntie Katie and Uncle Matt came to visit us. We had a great time at the beach on Saturday, building sand castles and collecting lots of rocks in buckets! Uncle Matt is leaving for the Air Force in a couple of weeks so it was so nice spending some quality time with him.

Trip to Como Zoo with Grandpa and Grandma

Last weekend, we headed once again this season to Como Zoo with Grandpa Mike and Grandma Joy. The kids love going on the rides so much. Charlie is starting to really love the rides too and has a hard time just watching Stella on the rides that he's not tall enough for. As always, the kids loved playing with Grandpa and Grandma and already are asking when they're coming back for another visit. The weekend goes by too fast and then we're always sad to say goodbye. It's hard sometimes to live so far away from the Haizels.

Two big performances!

Last weekend was an eventful weekend full of performances! My mom and I went to the Neil Diamond concert and had a blast, (notice the senior citizen bus behind us)! We laughed so hard, it was great people watching! On Sunday, Stella and I had a date without the boys and went out to lunch and to a play. We saw, If You Give A Mouse A Cookie, at the Minneapolis Children's Theatre. The play was great, but the highlights for Stella were that she got to paint her face and drink root beer (real pop)!

Happy 4th of July

For the 4th this year, we headed to the Bartsh cabin on Loon Lake. We couldn't have asked for better weather. We had a great time on the boat, swimming, playing tennis, playing badminton playing poker and hanging out by the fire. The kids had a blast playing with their cousin and uncles too. Uncle Luc surprised everyone and flew in from California. Only one minor accident involving a lazy susan and Grandpa John. Stella caught her first fish with Uncle Nic's help. And Jack caught the award winning fish for the weekend (see picture). We can't wait to get back there soon!
