Marathon 2009

Yesterday, Jack ran 26.2 miles! He completed the Twin Cities Marathon, his first marathon and we were all there to cheer him on. My parents, Katie and Tim came from Wisconsin and a lot of Jack's family came out to watch him achieve this major accomplishment. He was pretty tired out when it was over but today he's feeling much better and already talking about running it again next year! The kids kept asking if Daddy won the race- it was pretty cute. We all had so much fun cheering for him. We're all so proud!

First day of Kindergarten

Today was an emotional day for me. Stella had her first day of Kindergarten! She was super proud and excited even at 6 in the morning. Starting next week, she'll take the bus to school (more pictures to come) :) When I picked her up from school this afternoon she was excited to tell me about all of her new friends she made. I just can't believe how time goes so fast. I swear she was just a baby. I couldn't be prouder.

Happy Birthday Charlie!

Charlie had another birthday party on Saturday with the family from Minnesota. He wanted to have a Caillou birthday party. I had to search high and low to find a table cloth with Caillou on it and ended up having to have a cake made. Is Caillou only popular in my house? He had fun opening his presents and having everyone sing to him. He was very proud that he blew out all of his candles. The kids had fun playing dress up all night. And the grown ups played poker until too late at night. Charlie finally actually turns three tomorrow. Lots of partying!

State Fair 2009

We went to the State Fair on Thursday and had a lot of fun. The weather was perfect and the kids had fun seeing the animals and riding lots of rides. I'm proud to say that we didn't eat anything fried or on a stick! There are healthy options at the state fair believe it or not! Stella's a daredevil and wants to ride the rides she's still not tall enough for.

#4 is PURPLE!

We went to the first pre-season Vikings game last week to witness Brett Favre wearing the purple jersey. My friend Amy and her family met us there and all of the kids had fun cheering and eating lots of food. Go PACKERS!

Birthday Party Number 1!

When we were in Germantown this past weekend with my family, Charlie had the start of his birthday celebrations. It was really fun to watch Charlie be the center of attention for once. He loved every second of it, but got a little bashful when it came time to blow out the birthday candles. He received lots of Spiderman attire and many new tools. He's been wearing his tool belt and playing the recorder (thanks Auntie Katie) ever since the party. I can't believe that my baby is turning three in a couple of weeks. We had a great time seeing all of the family again. Thank you to everyone that came to celebrate!

The Milwaukee Zoo

This past Friday, we went to the Milwaukee zoo with my mom and my brother Tim. I hadn't been there in many years and it was super fun to bring the kids there. We had fun riding the train and Stella had fun riding a pony and a camel. Charlie was a bit unsure when it came to feeding the goats:) It was really nice to spend a beautiful day with my Mom and brother.
